Updates1 change
  • Software updates

Last security update: iOS 27.0.1 on September 28, 2026›Updates guaranteed until March 2033

Google publishes a guaranteed support period; Apple publishes the last security update instead. They are shown as they are, without a gain or a loss. Pixel 10a: Calculated from Google's policy, because Google does not list an end date for each model. Google: "Pixel 8 and later phones will get updates for 7 years starting from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US." Google's update policy

    What does this mean?

Google promises Android and security updates for a set time from when a Pixel first went on sale on the US Google Store. Apple gives no end date: its security releases page lists each update and which iPhones it is for.

On the Pixel side you see the month Google's promise runs until, or that Google no longer updates it (Pixel 5a and earlier); on the iPhone side, the latest update Apple has released for the newest iOS that iPhone can run. One is a promise about the future and the other a record of the past, so neither is marked as a gain or a loss.

Matters most if: You plan to keep the phone for many years, or you are buying one used.

  • Starting price

    $1,999›$499−$1,500

  • Same storage

    256 GB: $1,999›$599−$1,400

    What does this mean?

The launch price of the smallest storage option both models were sold with.

Starting prices can be for different amounts of storage. This row compares the same storage on both, so you can see what the newer model costs for what you have now. It is shown as a difference, not a gain or a loss.

Battery2 changes
  • Battery life (each maker's figure)

Up to 31 hours of video playback›30+ hour battery lifeDifferent

    What does this mean?

Each maker's own battery test. Apple's figure is hours of video playback; Google's is an estimate for a typical Pixel user's mix of calls, mobile data, standby and other use.

The tests are different, so an iPhone's hours and a Pixel's hours can't be compared directly, and the site shows both without picking a winner.

Matters most if: You often run out of battery before the end of the day.

  • Battery capacity

    Not published by Apple›5100 mAh

    What does this mean?

mAh (milliamp-hours) measures how much charge a battery holds, like the size of a fuel tank.

Google lists a typical capacity for each Pixel. Apple's iPhone tech specs give no capacity in mAh, so the iPhone side says "Not published by Apple". A bigger number alone does not mean longer battery life.

Screen2 changes
  • Screen size

    7.6 in›6.3 in−1.3 in

  • Screen type (each maker's name)

    OLED›Actua display (pOLED)Different

    What does this mean?

Each maker's own words for the screen: Google's names such as Actua and Super Actua, and the screen type Apple lists, such as OLED.

A name alone does not tell you which screen is brighter or sharper, so the row is marked "Different" without a winner.

Touch ID (side button)›Fingerprint Unlock, Face UnlockDifferent

  • Weight

  • Wired charging

Up to 50% charge in around 20 minutes with 60W-capable adapter or higher (available separately) paired with USB-C charging cable›up to 50% in about 30 minutes using 45W USB-C PPS chargerDifferent

    What does this mean?

How fast the phone charges with a cable, in each maker's own words: how much charge (or hours of use) you get in a set time with a charger of a given wattage (W).

The two makers test with different chargers and give different charge levels and times, so the row shows both sentences side by side as "Different", without marking either phone as charging faster. Older iPhones whose Tech Specs give no fast-charge figure say "Not published by Apple".

Chip & storage3 changes
  • Chip

    A20 Pro›Google Tensor G4Different

  • RAM

    Not published by Apple›8 GB

    What does this mean?

RAM is the phone's working memory for the apps you have open right now, measured in GB (gigabytes). It is separate from storage.

Google lists RAM for each Pixel. Apple's iPhone tech specs do not list RAM, so the iPhone side says "Not published by Apple" and the site does not estimate it.
